A Clinical Study on the Therapeutic Effects of Sobrerol (Sobnal^(®)) in Respiratory Compromised Patients

Abstract

|
The therapeutic activity of sobrerol (sobnal) has been evaluated in clinical trial of 14 patients with respiratory compromised patients. They were given one capsule twice daily containing 200mg of sobrerol for 2 weeks, Tests aimed to evaluate the time course of respiratory symptom parameters such as sputum amount, thickness, purulence, difficulty of expectoration and cough were scored in 4 scale and recorded before and after 14 day´s of treatment. All parameters except cough were significantly improved after treatment (p< 0.05). The overall efficacy estimated according to the total score of 5 items in individual patients. 64.3% of patients have improved respiratory symptom. Therefore sobrerol seems to be a helpful oral mucolytic agent to cleanse diseased airway.
